Over 10,000

meals for our community

Everyone deserves to eat good food.

The Good Food Impact is a nonprofit organization that strives to increase access to nutritious and delicious meals for our community. Our meals are meant for anyone experiencing food insecurity or food stress to access. We believe that everyone has the right to nutritious and delicious food.

The Good Food Impact (previously Good Food Project) started as a research project by a long time resident of Whitchurch-Stouffville. What started as a project, quickly turned into a community initiative. Run entirely by volunteers, the Good Food Impact prepares nutritious meals which are distributed to local organizations and can then be accessed by anyone in the community, on a no questions asked policy.

The Good Food Impact is proud to be recipients of funds from the following organizations.

FAQs

  • We cook our meals out of Ballantrae Community Centre. The Town of Whitchurch Stouffville has generously donated the space for us to use to prepare meals for our community.

  • Anyone and everyone! Our meals are meant for anyone experiencing food stress or food insecurity. We operate on a no questions asked policy to create a dignified food access experience.

  • We do not accept used food containers. We purchase single serving food containers that are microwave safe and can store frozen food. The containers can be cleaned and reused by the consumer if they choose to.

  • You can donate food, but we have restrictions on what we accept and when we can accept it. We plan our recipes a month in advance and require specific ingredients, so we cannot accept all donations. If you are interested in donating food, contact our kitchen team at kitchen@goodfoodimpact.org

  • Meals can be accessed and picked up on behalf of someone. If you know someone who is in need of a meal, please pick them up a meal(s) on their behalf.
